How it Works

Every month, the Guardians of the Storm will host a tournament on the Warlord: Saga of the Storm discord (linked on the homepage). All players will be awarded points towards the faction they played based on their performance. There will be seven leaderboards: Deverenian, Dwarf, Elf, Free Kingdoms, Mercenary, Nothrog and Chosen. At the end of the year, the top player for each faction will receive a set of faction themed prizes.

Players will receive:

  • 3 points for a normal game win

  • 1 point for a normal game tie

  • 10 points for a playoff series win

  • 5 points for a win in a lost playoff series

  • 1 point for a tie in a lost playoff series

  • 2 points for a lost playoff series

  • 10 points for winning a tournament.

There will no longer be points for best in faction. This will mean that someone will need to make the cut roughly 3 times to achieve the same amount of points as someone who wins a tournament, and players who barely miss the cut will receive a similar (slightly lower) amount of points to those who are eliminated in the top 8. The idea here is that putting up a great result will give you space to try new things, and knowing what faction you love will make sure you stay competitive in that faction even if not all of your decks are hypercompetitive. In theory, with great results, it is possible for a player to win 2 or 3 factions, but its also possible for a player with consistent but not stellar results to challenge for a top slot in 1 faction.
